About the lab

The MISC (Modelling, Imaging, Structure and Cognition) Lab is an interdisciplinary research group dedicated to understanding how the brain supports cognition, and how these processes are disrupted in neurological and psychiatric conditions. Our work combines advanced neuroimaging, computational modelling, and experimental methods to investigate the links between brain structure, brain networks, and behaviour.
We focus on key challenges in cognitive neuroscience, including the impact of white matter damage, stress, and neurodegeneration on both brain health and cognition. By integrating large-scale datasets, multimodal brain imaging and machine learning, we aim to uncover the mechanisms that drive functional and structural brain changes, cognitive dysfunction and identify new pathways for prevention and intervention.
